Free play site with opportunities to win real money.
Tournaments:
Multi-table, sit-n-go and heads-up tournaments.
Bonus:
None. Poker Pages is a free play poker site.
Distinguishing features:
Not a real-money poker site, although you can win real money in its free play games. (It won't be easy, but it's possible.)
There are two types of games at Poker Pages -- freerolls and bonus point games. Most freerolls do not award any prizes, although a few award bonus points to top finishers and others count toward league play, with top finishers in the leagues receiving bonus points. Bonus points can be used to buy into bonus point games, which usually offer more bonus ponits as prizes, although some award entry into cash tournaments. Bonus points can also be converted into cash after a player collects 1,000 points, at a rate of $1 per 100 points.
Poker Pages is a sister site of Bugsy's Club, and bonus points can also be earned by playing in real-money games at Bugsy's Club.
Poker Pages also offers a World Series of Poker promotion, in which players can win a seat in the main event of the WSOP by competing in three tiered tournaments. Finish in the top 40 of the first round tournament to move on to round two. Finish in the top 4 of the second tournament to move on to the final. Winner of the final receives a $10,000 buy-in to the main event of the WSOP, or $5,000 cash. Bonus points are also awarded to the top finishers in each tournament.
Payment options:
None, Poker Pages is a free play site.
Other notes:
Poker Pages is the free play sister site of Bugsy's Club, but as a free play site, there are generally a lot more games available. Nearly all games are either multi-table or sit-n-go tournaments, although there is a cash game section of the site, where players wager bonus points instead of cash.
Competition at Poker Pages is about what you would expect at a play money site, although with bonus points and cash awarded as prizes, players do tend to take the game a little more seriously.
